Pacifichem 2020 Hotel Accommodation 

Pacifichem 2020 has negotiated excellent rates at a wide selection of hotels located in the Waikiki Beach area near the meeting. All attendees who book their room through the official housing bureau (Orchid Events) will receive complimentary Internet access in the rooms. Pacifichem only endorses room reservations booked through their official housing bureau, Orchid Events.*

Hotel reservations are taken on a first-come, first-served, space available basis. Submit your request as soon as possible for the best opportunity of receiving your hotel choice. All requests must be received by November 12, 2020 to guarantee availability and special contracted rates. After this date, reservations will be made based on availability and hotels may charge higher rates.

Internet. Reserve Online. Reservations require a valid credit card (American Express, Discover, MasterCard, or VISA), and you will receive a confirmation to your e-mail address within 24 hours.

Telephone. Call Orchid Events at +1 833-277-7330 Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 6 PM MST. Telephone reservations require a valid credit card (American Express, Discover, MasterCard, or VISA), and you will receive an acknowledgment to your e-mail address within 24 hours.

Late Housing

Some hotels may have rooms available after November 12, 2020. A listing of these hotels will be posted on the Pacifichem meeting website at www.pacifichem.org.

Accommodations for Guests with Disabilities

Guests requiring special hotel accommodations because of a disability should indicate special requirements when making their reservation. Reconfirm any special room arrangements directly with the hotel.

Payment

All reservation requests must be accompanied by a credit card guarantee or check in the amount equaling a deposit for one night’s room and tax for each room reserved. All rooms are subject to room and occupancy tax, currently 14.932% (subject to change).

Although a valid credit card or check deposit for one night’s room and tax is required to confirm a reservation, a payment will not be charged by Orchid Events. The credit card information or check deposit will be forwarded with your reservation to your hotel on November 15 after 5 PM MST. Hotels may elect to charge a deposit of one night’s room and tax to your credit card prior to your arrival. You will need to handle all payment arrangements directly with your assigned hotel.

  • Guarantee hotel reservations by credit card (American Express, MasterCard, VISA), check, or money order.
  • Do not combine hotel fees with any other payment (e.g., registration, membership dues).
  • Reservations received without a valid guarantee/deposit will not be processed.
  • For checks or money orders, please make payable in US dollars to Orchid Events and be sure to include a completed Pacifichem Housing Form with each mailed payment.

Changes & Cancellation Policy

Reservation changes and cancellations can be made without penalty until November 12, 2020. Hotels do not have individual reservations or credit card guarantees yet. Reservations cancelled after November 12 will be subject to a $25 cancellation fee by Orchid Events for each room cancelled. One night’s room & tax will be charged by the hotel for reservations that are cancelled within 72 hours of arrival date. Penalties for early departures may be enforced and vary by hotel, please refer to your reservation acknowledgement for your individual hotel cancellation policy.

Through December 3, 2020 send requests for changes and cancellations in writing to Orchid Events via e-mail (pacifichem@orchidevents.com). After December 3rd contact hotels directly to make changes and cancellations.

Confirmations

Orchid Events will send a reservation confirmation. (You will not receive a separate confirmation from your hotel.) Please review your confirmation for accuracy. We strongly recommend that you bring your confirmation with you to the meeting.

Lost Confirmations

If you lose/do not receive your confirmation, please contact Orchid Events.

Rate Discounts

Reservations must be made through Orchid Events to receive Pacifichem 2020 discounted rates.

On-site Housing

An on-site housing desk will be available during the meeting in the registration area of the Hawaii Convention Center to assist with last-minute housing changes or needs.

Attendees Coming from Japan

The Chemical Society of Japan, a co-sponsor of Pacifichem 2020, has entered into an agreement with the Kinki Nippon tourist Corporate Business Co., Ltd. to facilitate travel and housing arrangements for attendees coming to Pacifichem 2020 from Japan. Residents of Japan can obtain information in Japanese and book their hotel reservations (as well as register for the meeting and book airline reservations) by contacting Kinki Nippon tourist Corporate Business Co., Ltd. directly.
